Houston Botanic Garden
Houston Botanic Garden was first recognized as a Bird-Friendly Community partner in 2024. Their Bird-Friendly actions include: providing native plants by maintaining a no-mow prairie area in the garden, pledging to go “Lights Out” during migration periods, applying anti-collision decals to building windows, limiting pesticide use by employing an Integrated Pest Management Plan (IPM), removing stray dogs and cats, hosting a bird survey on property, and offering co-produced bird and plant-related events. These efforts support every pillar of what makes a Bird-Friendly Community and Houston Audubon is proud to call them a BFC partner!
